New & Self-Published Author Program
|
If you are a talented, new author or a self-published author we have a unique program that will give you the opportunity to have your book traditionally published. Please take the time to read this page in its entirety and if you choose you can begin the program enrollment.
Most traditional publishers do not look very closely at new authors or those who are self-published. The reason for this is there are higher risks involved for the publisher for authors who are not already known on the market. We believe there are many talented authors who are having to resort to self-publishing and vanity presses because the traditional publishers are not willing to give them a chance. We also as a traditional publisher, know the risks involved but instead of looking at the hurdle, we decided to remove it completely. We came up with a way to highly benefit the author while lowering the common risk factors normally associated with new titles.
Of course, there are some stipulations, as your title, just as any other, must pass our submission guidelines. We are not a self-publishing or vanity press which will normally print any title edited or not. So, we review your manuscript as we would any other, although, we do allow a bit more flexibility with our new and self-published authors.
We are a specialty publisher which means we specialize in certain genres. A listing of the subject matter we publish is listed below: Please note, these subjects cover a very broad range of content, as this is only a basic analysis of the genre we specialize in.
Spirituality, Mythology, Archeology, Mysteries, Paranormal, Occult, Ancient History, Secret Societies, New Age, Metaphysical, Divination, Magical Practices, Religion, Astrology, Fiction (Sci-fi, visionary, occultic and fantasy), Ancient Civilizations, Supernatural, Self-Help and Science.
We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions about this program, in hopes it will give you all the information you need to make an informed decision. Please review our FAQ (below) for the First Time & Self-Published Author's Program.
We also, now offer a submission form which can easily be filled in to give us the basic information about your title prior to sending the completed manuscript. The links below will walk you through the sign-up process for our program. We greatly look forward to working with you to bring your book into print!

Many want to know if there is a difference between being traditionally published & the first time authors program.
The only difference that separates the two is a traditionally published standard contract requires we pay the costs incurred upfront on behalf of the author and recoup our costs from book sales. Where as with the first time author program you are still being traditionally published but you pay the initial costs upfront and they are not recouped from book sales royalties.
It's really similar to someone purchasing something on credit verses someone who just pays cash.
Advantages to the first time author program vs. self-publishing
The difference is rather large, as much as we would all love to believe that self-published titles are placed into the same arena as traditionally published titles, that simply is not the case. The reason for this is that many self-publishers and vanity presses have no stipulations on the titles, in other words it does not have to be edited or professionally formatted, which unfortunately, greatly hurts the many talented authors who do have their title edited and created professionally.
With the first time author program you are being traditionally published, your title must pass our submission process and be approved for contract. We are a traditional publisher, so the retail and wholesale markets do not associate us as an author's do-it-yourself or self publishing company because we are not one. Your book will undergo the same editing, creation, formatting and marketing process as all our titles.
How much does the program cost?
The first time author program is $549.00 with $150.00 due at sign-up and the additional cost due before further publishing begins. If for any reason we do not approve your manuscript you will receive your money back, less thirty-five dollars for the processing and editing overview of your title. When your title is approved you will then be billed for the remaining balance of $399.00. The fee covers all the standard procedures we must go through to market your title and make it ready for print.
- Basic editing (grammar, punctuation, spelling, cliches' and redundancies etc.) up to 250 pages (8.5 x 11 Word Doc format with 1.25" margins & 1" header/footer, single space, double break for new paragraphs, font no smaller than 12pt times new roman). Each additional page over 250 pages in the format shown above will be charged a rate of .20 per page. Please note: front and back content such as title pages, footnotes, endnotes, bibliography, table of contents, appreciation, dedication etc. pages do not count toward the editing page count.

What about editing?
All of our titles go through an editing process with advanced professional software programs designed for the publishing industry. It is vital to our reputation and yours that your book be placed onto the market with the same professionalism as any other traditionally published book.
We do not contract books that need complete rewrites. massive editing or ghost writers to relay the authors message, as that would not fall into the category of a title suited for traditional publishing.
What about royalties?
We pay royalties three times annually on or before April 30th, August 31st and December 31st. We strive because of the holiday season to get royalties out for the month of December by the 15th. We pay out via check or paypal.
Our first time authors receive royalties in the amount of 25% of net profit.
What is an ISBN, Bookland EAN Barcode and an LCCN?
An ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is a 10-digit number (13-Digit is implemented as well for the upcoming standards) that identifies the title, author and publisher of a book. It is used for ordering and cataloging of books. The ISBN appears on all back covers of books, and on the copyright page.
The Bookland EAN symbol is the bar code of choice in the book industry worldwide, because it allows for encodation of ISBN’s. Larger book retailers, as well as many book wholesalers require that the books they handle be marked with the Bookland EAN bar code. With this machine-readable code on the book, the retailer can scan the symbol and easily electronically identify the book by its ISBN. When a retail clerk scans the Bookland EAN bar code at the point of sale, the bar code identifies the book so that the price and other information about the book can be retrieved from the bookseller’s database. http://www.barcode-us.com/info_center/bookinfo.htm
An LCCN (Library of Congress Control Number)is an identifying number assigned by the Library of Congress (LC) to each catalog record. LCCN's are often assigned to publishers in advance of publication so that the number may be printed on the copyright page of the book. The LCCN is unique to each item and is an important access point.
When we register a book with The Library of Congress, we normally receive your number within 48 hours, prior to print we place the number on your copyright page and after the book goes into print, we submit the necessary copy of your book to the Library of Congress for placement in the library collection.
Contract length?
Our contracts standard length is two years, after which you/we can choose to cancel the contract or it can continue uninterrupted.
Author book copies
You will receive two (2) complimentary copies of your title and the proof copy after we have reviewed it. If you wish to purchase copies of your title you can do so at anytime at a discount of 50% off the cover price. You will also have the option of receiving books in lieu of royalties if there is sufficient sales to facilitate your book order.
Wholesale?
We have a large list of registered retailers(brick and mortar bookstores/shops and online shops) who purchase directly from us at wholesale. Our titles are also listed in all the major retail outlets online and they are also available to distributors who receive higher discounts but buy in bulk quantities.
What major retail sites offer your titles?
We will use one of our current title that has been on the market since October 2007, The Grimoire, Fill the pages, bring it to life as an example. It's offered in many brick and mortar stores who purchase from us directly but it's also available at the following major retail outlets online.
What other marketing resources do you offer?
As your publisher we market your title but it's important that the author understands that to be successful they must also, market their title and make themselves available to the public. Further, we furnish all of our author's with a ready to print, high resolution Sell Sheet templates for their title, at no additional cost. Sell Sheets are a wonderful way to send out a visual presentation and announcement of your book to your local area and address lists.
We also offer all our authors, who do not have an internet presence, their own fully built web site, with domain name (yourname.com etc.) and hosting for only $399.00 complete and then $75.00 per year thereafter to cover domain name renewal and annual hosting. If the author already has a domain name and hosting then we can supply a professionally designed website for them to utilize on their own hosting account for $329.00. Our websites include, an information page on the author's title with purchase link, an about the author page, a home page, a contact page and a guestbook.
We also make available to our authors a promotional package kit which will allow for the author to have professional high resolution quality pre-formatted templates to send to their printer or we can assist the author with the printing process. We do include a sell sheet template for all authors at no charge but for the full promotional template package we charge $50.00 additional. This package includes the templates (will include layouts for front and back printing) for business cards, postcard and bookmarks.
We can also assist the author with other materials such as posters.
This highly depends on the manuscript, some require more thorough steps to produce than others. In truth, much depends on the manuscript that we receive and the level of difficulty involved in formatting the title. Normally, if we receive a submission that requires little editing and the creation goes smoothly, that title is normally ready for printing within 30 days.
